Giambori September concerts are here

Live at the Community Centre. Thursday September 12 & Saturday September 14 at 7 pm.

Music: Dvorak opus 87; Beethoven opus 9, number 3; Brahms; Villa-Lobos; Piazzolla. Elisabeth Jahren, Piano and Accordian; Daphne Moody, Violin; Bryony Moody, Cello; Chris Redsell, Viola.

Tickets $25 (under 18, $10) available at Farm Gate, Home Hardware, Happy Tides & the Trading Post.

We look forward to these concerts, which are a bit earlier than our usual Autumn series mostly done in October other years. We are welcoming back Daphne from the UK, an old colleague of mine, who you will remember for her very sweet tone and refined playing.

Of course Elisabeth and I will be there and have just been rehearsing some lovely arrangements of hers when we visited at Green Lake this week. This month Eric is in the Northwest Territories on a first nations project and so Daphne will bring her daughter Bryony with her, who just happens to be ...a cellist. Both will give master classes to the respective sections of the string orchestra that I conduct on Vancouver Island while they are here and who knows... we may one day get the orchestra here for a concert soon. - C.R.

For further information please contact Christopher Redsell chrisredsell@shaw.ca.
