Movie Night with Leonard Cohen: Sat Apr 21

Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 7:30 pm in the Ag Hall. The Mayne Island Library Program Committee presents "Ladies and Gentlemen... Mr. Leonard Cohen."

Produced in 1965, this 44 minute film is an informal portrait of Montreal poet, novelist and songwriter Leonard Cohen, seen here reading his poetry to a rapt audience, relaxing with family and friends, and spending time on his own.

Along with this film is another, The Boy Next Door, a short film about a relationship transitioning through language differences. When French-speaking Jacques moves next door to English-speaking Jimmy, each is amazed to find that the other doesn’t speak his language. But when it comes to exploring and playing together, language just doesn’t seem to matter. Each soon finds himself venturing into the other’s language.

Popcorn and movie by donation. For further information please contact David Chase maynechase@yahoo.com.
