3-Hour Workshop: Writing Narrative Scenes. “The scene” is the dramatic heart of fiction, where plot, setting and character come together on the page. In this intensive workshop, we will review the four types of prose used in writing fiction, study examples of successful narrative scenes and analyze their elements, including the effective use of dialogue. We will, of course, also write scenes! Participants should bring several scenes from their own writing.

Minimum five participants, maximum ten. To register, mail a cheque or money order made out to Pam Withers to 764 Steward Dr., Mayne Island, BC V0N 2J2. Or drop an envelope containing your contact information (name, phone, email) and $75 cash into the locking white mailbox beside the front door at that address. Fee is reimbursable up to one month before the workshop, and reimbursable after that if there are people on the waiting list.
