Annual Poppies & Remembrance Day: Fri Nov 11

Island Veterans We welcome three new associate members to our Branch and encourage anyone to consider being part of our group. Membership is open to any age level, both current or former members of many organizations. Fire fighters, paramedical staff, cadets and Primary Reservists are fully able to join. We are always hopeful that you will be added to the Branch list of friends here at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 84 Mayne Island.

Acts of Remembrance Dates We will be having the traditional service and Act of Remembrance this year beginning at 10:30 am on November 11th, in front of the Lych Gate at St Mary Magdalene Church followed by a church service. After the service a gathering will be held at the Ag Hall with food and fellowship. Our Interim Priest, The Rev. Greg Lynn, will be the officiant. A piper from Vancouver will join us, whom many of you may have seen when he performed here last month with the Tannahill Weavers.

  1. We are certainly most thankful for the islands notices and comments that have renewed our sense of being part of the community we serve.

  2. Increasing how to reach forward to all portions of serving community means assistance not just association.
