Celebrate Canada Day At Miners Bay: Wed Jul 1

Canada's birthday falls on Wednesday, July 1. One hundred and forty-eight years ago, Canada became a self-governing country with four provinces, and her feet were set firmly on the path leading to the nation that she is today.

When the clock strikes twelve noon, there will be a flag-raising ceremony at Miners Bay Park to mark the proclamation of the British North America Act in 1867. The Legion will be there to raise the flag.

The Lions will offer hamburgers and hot dogs, and the Silver Maynes will have beverages for sale. Free ice cream for youngsters. This is a day worthy of celebration.
