Film Night at the Ag Hall - Hi Ho Mistahey: Fri Feb 6

The Mayne Island Library presents this feature-length documentary, in which Alanis Obomsawin tells the story of Shannen’s Dream, a national campaign to provide equitable access to education in safe and suitable schools for First Nations children. Strong participation in this initiative eventually brings Shannen’s Dream all the way to the United Nations in Geneva.

This is an example of "the power of one" and the courage and determination of a young First Nations girl to fight for, and achieve, quality education for her community.

Admission and Popcorn by donation.
