Mayne Island Community Choir: starts Wed Sep 17

The Community Choir begins meeting at the Community Centre, weekly at 7 pm from Wednesday September 17th.

New voices are wanted for all parts and we'll welcome anyone who is keen and can sing in tune. It's likely that enthusiasm will carry you a long way as we will work on individual parts as needed. We plan on learning some new music (yes, including a short chorale by J.S. Bach) and relaxing with the well known tunes from Les Misérables.

If we can increase our numbers just a little we would like to stage a concert made up of four part arrangements of popular carols sometime before Christmas. We will be booking the date at the Church in mid October if it's a "go."

A new element in our weekly routine is that we plan on having a visiting expert to help us rehearse once a month. Stephen Cropper will be our guest in September and Gail Noonan will drop by in October; we're delighted that they have agreed to help us out. Lauren Underhill will be our accompanist on most Wednesdays.

If travel or other business means that you cannot come along on the 17th, just join us when you can. For those who don't drive after dark we can arrange car pooling!

Remember - every Wednesday at 7 pm.

For further information please contact Alan Ryder (250) 539-2673.
