Cumberland Goes Out For Refit: Feb 11 to Mar 19

The Queen of Cumberland will be removed from service on the Swartz Bay – Southern Gulf Islands route from Tuesday February 11th to Wednesday March 19, 2014 for refit and dry dock.

The Bowen Queen will be the temporary replacement vessel for the duration of the refit. As the Bowen Queen is a smaller vessel, please note that overloads may occur. Where possible, passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider carpooling, travelling outside of peak sailing times and/or arriving at the terminal early for their desired sailing.

Commercial customers are advised that vehicles over 10,000 kg GVW are restricted to centre lane loading only on the Bowen Queen. As a result, available commercial vehicle capacity will be reduced while the Bowen Queen is in service. The maximum width of an over-height vehicle is 10.1 ft. (3.074 meters).

For further information please contact the Local Ferry Advisory Committee Chair, (250) 539-5970.
