Mayne-agerie: Sept. TCAC Library Show: Fri Sep 6

Andrew Ferneyhough at the Mayne Island Library in September

In September the TCAC exhibit in the Mayne Island Library will feature the work of recent Trincomali Community Arts Council member Andrew Ferneyhough. Andrew graduated with Distinction from the Ontario College of Art & Design in 2010, majoring in Drawing & Painting, with minors in both Art History and Material Art & Design.

His work varies from sharp graphic design to impressionistic wildlife; from fantastical illustration to stunning picturesque portraits and more. Taking inspiration from classical painting, graphic novels, Steampunk, Art Nouveau, Surrealism, graffiti, pulp Sci-Fi book covers, religious iconography, album artwork, anatomy, and his own imagination, Andrew's technique employs acrylic painting, pen, pencil & chalk drawing, wood, ceramics, jewellery, screen-printing, Photoshop, seashells, computer parts, or simply whatever suits the task. His artwork has graced the covers of numerous albums & band merchandise, posters, t-shirts, suitcases, websites and many thoroughly happy people's walls/skin.

Andrew currently lives on and works on Mayne, with his designer/artist wife Kat and cat/bear Mr. Moo, in a small house not far from a beach full of oyster shells/canvases.

Please join the artist for the opening of his debut TCAC exhibit on Mayne, Friday evening September 6th from 5-9 PM at the Library. The exhibit will run through to Saturday September 28th.
