Remove Invasive Species from Bennett Bay - Fri Jul 5

The Mayne Island Conservancy Society has an interesting day planned during which we will be removing a variety of invasive species that are present in low numbers in the park.

This management style is called Early Detection Rapid Response and is based on the idea that removing problem plants before they can become established is more resource efficient than waiting until they have spread. Most parts of Bennett Bay represent healthy ecosystems right now; let’s work to keep them that way.

We will provide a light lunch, and all the tools and training you will need. Please bring appropriate footwear, clothing, water, and your smiling faces! Meet at the parking lot 10 am.

The Conservancy welcomes volunteers, old & new to these restoration events.

Email Rob Underhill stewardship@conservancyonmayne.com or call (250) 539-5168 if you are joining us, so we get the lunch numbers right, or if you need further information.
