Getting into a routine! Conservancy Volunteer Offer. Mon Jun 24

Routine: (roo-ten) (n.) 1. A prescribed, detailed course of action to be followed regularly; a standard procedure. 2. A set of customary and often mechanically performed procedures or activities. (adj.) 1. Habitual; regular.

At the Mayne Island Conservancy Society we understand the benefits of a regular schedule or routine and as such we would like to offer volunteers the chance to get outside, meet new people and be engaged in your community.

Therefore throughout the summer we will be hosting bi-weekly Henderson Hill Restoration events. Running Mondays 9:30 - 12:30: June 24, July 8, July 22, August 12 and August 26 (taking Aug. 5th off so everyone can enjoy the long-week, Fall Fair and MICS 10th Anniversary Event).

We will be working to remove broom along the ridge and in other previously treated areas, so as to limit its extent. All equipment is provided and this event is open to all skill levels. Please bring appropriate footwear, hats, long sleeves (recommended), sunscreen or rain gear.

We will meet at the kiosk in the parking lot of the park.

Please RSVP if you will be joining, need a ride, can offer a ride or if you need directions. Ask for Rheanna at (250)-539-5168 or email

We will work in light rain, however if it is really coming down I will cancel the event via email.

Thanks, hope to see lots of people as we develop our summer restoration routine.
