MICS Volunteer Broom Removal Event - Thu Feb 7

The Mayne Island Conservancy’s next broom removal event will be at Henderson Park, Mayne Island, on February 7th, from 1 pm - 3 pm and we need volunteers!

This event follows our previous event's success of clearing 2.3 acres of previously treated area. By removing broom from these areas, we are ensuring that work already invested in cutting broom does not go to waste.

This event will again have staff and volunteers working in a previously treated area. We will be working in an easier part of the park terrain-wise, no hiking will be required and the ground is not steep (no sides of hills for this removal day).

We will meet at the parking lot by the kiosk. If you are unsure of how to get there please let us know. This is a great chance to get to know/enjoy Henderson Park and have some interesting conversations, all while getting some exercise.

All tools needed will be provided, we just ask that you bring suitable clothing, footwear and water.

The more volunteers the better, so if you know of anyone who might be interested please pass this on. Thanks!

Please RSVP to stewardship@conservancyonmayne.com or phone the office at (250) 539-5168.
