Mayne Island to be featured on Global News - Sat Oct 6

On Saturday and Sunday mornings, Global TV News highlights a different town/place in BC throughout the newscast.

Mayne Island is going to be the Small Town Feature on Saturday October 6th in the 3 hour show from 7 to 10 a.m.

We want to promote Mayne Island with hopes of encouraging more visitors, and to share with everyone what a great place we live in. We need as many people as possible to watch the program, please tell your family & friends to watch!

We have been asked to send photos of the island, the market, the businesses, parks, hikes and events with your name and a brief description.

Photos will be accepted October 1 – Oct 6 to this email address: weekendnews@globaltv.com

We have put together a Gift Basket with locally produced items for the Global desk which we hope Lynn Collier, Wesla Wong, Kristie Gordon and Jay Janower will open while talking about us!

If you want to view previous episodes of Global's Small Town BC feature you can watch the video at the Global BC web site: http://www.globaltvbc.com/video/#small+town+bc

Thank you everyone for all your help and support!

(Sorry to those trying to view this video using an iPad or another tablet or smart phone that doesn't have Flash installed, Global TV only makes their video available for computers or devices with Flash installed. Given that Flash technology is pretty much becoming obsolete, this is somewhat surprising for Global.)

  1. "Given that Flash technology is pretty much becoming obsolete" - its only obsolete because Apple says so, no other reason. All other devices including Android tablets and cell phones play it just fine.
